Existing Route 5
Notes to existing route:
Service from Downtown San Diego would be discontinued on the Route 5, but retained by Routes 50 from Downtown and Route 105 from Old Town Transit Center.
Service east of Genesee Ave on Governor Dr, Kantor St, Gullstrand St and Pavlov Ave would be discontinued.
Service on Governor Dr west of Regents Rd, Stressmann St and Pennent Wy would be discontinued.
Route 5 will be replaced north of Old Town Transit Center with the proposed Route 105.
Service between Old Town Transit Center and Downtown will be discontinued.
The new Route 5 Downtown terminal would be C St. and Park Blvd. Service would remain along Market St. and into Euclid Trolley Station. Service north of the Trolley Station along Euclid Ave, Federal Ave, Bayview Heights Rd., Grape St., 54th St., Streamview Dr., College Ave. and College Grove Dr. would be retained by a new Route 916/917 Loop. The Loop would serve this current Route 5 portion north of the Trolley Station, into College Grove and south through Emerald Hills.
